Disney and Secret Cinema partner for Pirates of the Caribbean show
Secret Cinema has announced plans for a production inspired by Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, described as its “most ambitious” project to date.
Secret Cinema presents Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Immersive Adventure will open in February 2027 and marks the first time the franchise has been adapted into a fully immersive theatrical experience.
The production will become the first show staged at the company’s planned new venue near The O2 and North Greenwich station, subject to planning permission.
Licensed through Disney Theatrical Group, the production will feature large-scale sets, live performances, stunt work and a live band, with audiences moving freely through environments inspired by Tortuga and the Black Pearl.
Merritt Baer, artistic director of Secret Cinema and co-founder of TodayTix, described the show as the company’s “most ambitious production ever”.
“We can’t wait to open our new flagship venue at Greenwich Peninsula with the world premiere of Secret Cinema presents Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Immersive Adventure,” she said.
Angelo Desimini, senior vice president of licensed partnerships and brand management at Disney Theatrical Group, said the production formed part of Disney’s wider expansion into immersive live entertainment.
“Together, we are reimagining how fans engage with this beloved property, not as spectators but as participants in a live experience,” he said.
