Singin’ in the Rain returns for UK and Ireland tour

Jonathan Church’s production of Singin’ in the Rain will return for a UK and Ireland tour in 2027, opening at Bromley’s Churchill Theatre before a summer season at Sadler’s Wells.

The tour follows a Christmas run at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre from 26th November, 2026, to 16th January, 2027, beginning in Bromley on 28th January.

Produced by Jonathan Church Theatre Productions, the revival was originally staged by Chichester Festival Theatre alongside Stage Entertainment and Sheffield Theatres.

Casting for the new tour is yet to be announced.

Church said he was “absolutely delighted” the production would return to tour the UK and Ireland and revisit Sadler’s Wells.

“Following its Chichester and West End premieres, this production has now been seen by millions of people around the world,” he said.

The director added that it was especially “thrilling” for the production to begin its latest run in Sheffield, where his directing career began.

The tour will visit venues including Dublin’s Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Edinburgh Playhouse, Birmingham Hippodrome and Salford’s Lowry before concluding in Cardiff in September 2027.

The production is directed by Church, with choreography by Andrew Wright and set and costume design by Simon Higlett.
